The Ambassador Platform Knowledge Base

Understanding time reporting and weekly limits

This article explains how ambassador time is tracked, how to read the reports, and how weekly limits affect access to the platform.

The simple ideaTime reporting follows this logic:

Activity → Time → Limit → Access
  • Ambassadors perform actions in the platform
  • Some actions add time
  • Some admin changes can subtract time
  • Total time is compared against a weekly limit
  • Once the limit is reached, the ambassador is blocked from further activity

Career Points are separate. They may be shown elsewhere in the product, but they are not the same as time and should not be treated as a conversion source for time in this article.

How time is created

Time is calculated automatically based on ambassador activity.

Examples of activities that can contribute to time:
  • chatting
  • creating or publishing content
  • answering FAQs
  • live event activity

Time is not entered manually by ambassadors. Updates happen in real time (previously once per hour).

Time categories

Time is grouped into categories for reporting:

  • Chat
  • Content
  • FAQ
  • Live events
These categories help explain where time was spent.

Important:

  • categories are for reporting
  • the weekly limit applies to the total time across the platform

Time can go down.

Sometimes time is subtracted. This happens when an admin edits activity and adjusts the counted time.

That is why you may see negative entries in the activity log.

Where to view time spent

You can view time in: Overview (on a graph or in a table), time limit reporting, activity log.

Time limits report

A summary of:

  • time spent by category
  • total time
  • remaining time
  • weekly limit

this is for you to get 'per activity' view of what's going on with ambassadors.

Weekly limits

Each ambassador has a weekly time limit.

This limit applies to the total time spent on the platform, not to one specific category.

Important:
  • limits are weekly
  • monthly limits are being converted to weekly
  • all time counts toward one global cap

What happens near the limit

If an ambassador is slightly below the limit and performs one more action:

  • the action is allowed
  • time is rounded up to the limit
  • the ambassador is then blocked from further activity

What happens when the limit is reached

Once the weekly limit is reached:

  • the ambassador is blocked from further actions in the platform

This applies across functionality, even if particular features are enabled.

Feature toggles and time limits are independent controls. Feature toggles decide what an ambassador is allowed to use in general, such as:

  • chat
  • content
  • FAQ
  • TAP Feed

Time limits are a separate control.

If the ambassador reaches the weekly limit:
  • they are blocked from further activity regardless of which features are enabled

Multiple weeks in reporting

When multiple weeks are selected in the report:

  • time accumulates across the selected weeks
