Control where ambassadors are displayed and what capabilities are enabled for them.
Three independent capability switches control where ambassadors appear and what they can do. Each switch is enabled in two steps, first globally in Super Admin, then per ambassador. If you are a university, approach your CSM to ask this question.
Available switches
- IDP Community — enables ambassador participation in the community workflow. Community managers can ask questions, and ambassador responses are stored and visible in both the university dashboard and the IDP dashboard. This is content and Q&A, not live chat.
- IDP Live App — enables real time chat with ambassadors across IDP channels, including IDP.com, the IDP Live app, and HCI. This is strictly the live messaging capability.
- IDP Content — publishes ambassador generated content into the IDP widget across all supported channels. This controls visibility of content only. If Live App is not enabled, future students can see content of this ambassador but cannot start a live chat.
- Whatuni — legacy support for Whatuni. The ambassador profile available for chat is displayed on Whatuni.
How it works
- Enable the switch in Super Admin.
- Enable the same switch for specific ambassadors.
Each switch is independent and can be combined as needed. For example, IDP Community only; IDP Community plus Content, which means a user can be asked questions by an IDP content manager but future students can't chat with the user if they find their profile on one of the channels; or a full setup with Community, Content, and Live App.
