📣 Step 1: Plan a Marketing Campaign
Start with a clear value proposition:
- Help students meet future classmates and flatmates
- Offer insights into courses, student life, and preparation tips
- Create a sense of belonging before arrival
- Use multi-stage email campaigns to re-engage students at different funnel stages
- Tailor messaging to what matters most at each decision point (e.g. accommodation, course prep, social life)
- Include screenshots, ambassador bios, and chat highlights to build excitement
Ambassadors are key to driving conversation. Before launch:
- Choose a diverse mix of ambassadors (subjects, nationalities, interests)
- Brief them on response expectations and tone
- Ask them to post a welcome message in each group chat before prospects join
- Encourage ambassadors to ask open-ended questions
- Share personal experiences to spark conversation
- Check in regularly and rotate ambassadors if needed
As your Community grows, new themes will emerge. Use insights from 1:1 chats and group activity to:
- Create new Community Groups around trending topics
- Send targeted emails like:
“Have you seen our new group chat on budgeting tips?” - Share anonymised quotes or screenshots as social proof
Track key metrics in your dashboard:
- Invite acceptance rates
- Group chat activity
- 1:1 conversation volume
If you're on our Active Management plan, your Delivery Manager will:
- Monitor activity across your Community space
- Recommend new group topics based on engagement data
- Ensure ambassadors are active and responsive
- Help align Community with your wider recruitment strategy
- Use gamification: shoutouts, badges, or mini challenges
- Host live events or Q&A sessions in Streams to drive traffic back to Community
- Create a content calendar with seasonal themes (e.g. results day, moving in, course prep)
- Encourage peer-to-peer support — not just ambassador-led chats
